MTV News coverd an interesting wedding in Orlando, FL recently. They were there to catch a Full Sail gradutes wedding on film, a Halo themed wedding. The wedding was a part of this year’s Otronicon festival, an annual video game festival sponsored by Full Sail University. They were ceremoniously united as “Teamates for life” by Master Chief himself. The bride and groom even went head to head in a tournament while the bridesmaids and groomsmen competed for the garter and veil.

When the Official XBOX Mag decided to send one of thier guys to New Zealand to ride around in the one off Warthog reproduction from the scrapped Peter Jackson Halo film, he could hardly belive it. This thing looks pretty wicked, I can hardly get over how much the details and the paint scheme look almost rendered. It is quite an amazing piece of art. I really like the shot below you can see some of the amazing detail work.
So unless this movie is actually made someday this thing is likely to just hang around as a showpiece. Shame, because it is one bad-ass vehicle.

Linhbergh, of Kinod.net posted this pic yesterday, and it begs the question, what kind of ride would a Jedi have? It doesnt get much more evil than an Ariel Atom, so what righteous vehicle would a Jedi travel in?
This pic was also featured on jalopnik.com yesterday, which led me to find this picture as well. A storm trooper in an Elise. The dark side has some serious rides.

It would appear that these images are making the rounds on the web, and here is some resulting funny business.

World of Warcraft game moderators are watching you.
A 17-year-old Fairfield Twp. teen pretended to be suicidal when he became frustrated with an online video game, Fairfield Twp. police reported..
According to officials, the teen was arrested Monday, Dec. 29, for inducing panic after patrol officers and medics responded to the boy’s home in the 3000 block of Pimlico Court. The charge is a first-degree misdemeanor.
The panic? The teen had earlier approached a GM with threats of being suicidal if he did not receive some loot. Hoping the GM would be sympathetic, but rather he ended up calling the authorities. Serves the kid right.
So he gets no money, no weapons, just a court date instead. The full story is here.

Palm has debuted it’s new device today during a keynote at CES. The Palm Pre. A multi touch display phone with a 3.1 inch 320×480 resolution, EV-DO, 802.11b/g WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, A2DP and 8 gigs of on-board flash storage. The interesting thing about the face is that the touch sensitivity runs the all the way down and around the lone silver center button occupying the front. The lower touch area is there for gestures. While a full albeit tight qwerty keyboard slides from behind the touchy display. The Phone has Texas Instruments new OMAP CPU powering their all new webOS device platform. The webOS according to Palm supplies laptop power and speed, for some fancy smooth transitions and app switching a-la a deck of cards. The phone houses a 3MP camera with LED flash, microUSB and the usual 3.5mm audio jack. Here is what to write home about: wireless charging. You read it, wireless. Place the phone on it’s charging base “the touchstone” and charge away.
Sprint will offer the phone exclusively in the first half of ‘09. Cost: no mention as of yet.
News of this device was enough to wake Palm’s stock from it’s comatose state and rise 35% today. I would say they have generated some excitement and enthusiasm.

Steve Ballmer has announced the availability of the Windows 7 Beta at his CES keynote. Ballmer: “The beta version of Windows 7, Microsoft’s next-generation PC operating system, can be downloaded today by MSDN, TechBeta and TechNet customers. Consumers who want to test-drive the beta will be able to download it beginning January 9 at http://www.microsoft.com/windows7.”
Ballmer was even ready to say: “We are on track to deliver the best version of Windows ever. We’re putting in all the right ingredients — simplicity, reliability, and speed — and working hard to get it right, and to get it ready.”
So, tommorrow is the 9th of January. Happy downloading.
And if you give it a shot leave us a note about what you think.
Update:
Microsoft has decided to lift the 2.5 million download limit. After the Windows 7 Beta download went live it did not take very long to choke up the servers, this lift shoul help everyone interested grab a copy of Windows 7, for now.

Look for something to drive your new Samsung monitor or 120Hz 3D HDTV? Enter NVIDIA’s GeForce 3D Vision package, loaded up with powered 3D glasses (no red / blue silliness here, charged via USB) and an IR emitter to keep everything synced between the display and your glasses. Left 4 Dead, WoW: WotLK and several other games are already compatible with more expected to come soon. CES had a quick demo and didn’t notice any of the headaches sometimes associated with stereocopic 3D, but at $399 for the display and $199 for this set when it’s available in the next few days, we’re not sure how close we want to get to those zombies, but WoW fans may see things differently.
